About
Hey peeps, my name is Oswaldo Marcelo and i am currently studying a Master of Architecture at UTS (University of Technology, Sydney) having previously completed a BA in Architecture at UTS in 2008. This website will hopefully act as a place where i can express my views on a few things, whether it be architecture, music, football, travelling or whatever it is that’s in my head at the time and share with you things that i think are interesting and important.
I have 2 years experience working in the Architectural industry with Glanville Architects between 2005-2008 where my main role was in documenting projects from design stage all the way through completion. Most were large scale projects as the firm focussed on education such as primary and secondary schools, universities etc. The experience was very valuable and opened up my eyes to what and how an architectural office works. It also allowed me to develop excellent skills in using Autodesk Revit on such projects as -
* Brigidine College, Randwick
* St Scholasticas College, Glebe
* St Monica’s Primary School, Parramatta
* St Oliver’s Primary School, Harris Park
* Catholic Education Office, Parramatta
At the moment, i have been focussing on small scale residential projects with most recent work done in inner city suburbs of Five Dock, Alexandria and Leichhardt. This has allowed me to branch out and gain in experience in the design stage of projects and also in dealing more intimately with clients and council.
Luckily for myself, i have interests other than Architecture, and they include football, music, street art, spoken word and many other things which will hopefully come through in the site. Seeing as my place of birth was in Lima, Peru, i don’t think i really had any other choice but to live, breath and sleep football. With the World Cup coming up next year in South Africa, it’s exciting times ahead especially with Australia qualifying again for the pinnacle of world sport. Music like most people, is a big part of my life, was brought up listening to Salsa and Latin music in general, and then once we moved to Australia, songs from the 60′s and 70′s. Eventually my love of Rap music came about when i was a 5 year old kid listening to De La Soul and Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince.
These are things that i am passionate about and hopefully this is evident throughout the website. Enjoy!
